Hardware: HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec0xxx
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3550H
GPU: AMD Picasso/Raven2 Vega 8 (0x1002:0x15d8) — only GPU visible in lspci, GTX 1650 absent
Kernel: 7.0.10-arch1-1
Mesa: 26.1.1-2
linux-firmware-amdgpu: 20260519
Compositor: Hyprland 0.55.2 (Wayland)
Dual boot: Windows 11 (HDMI works fine there)Issue:
HDMI-A-1 shows disconnected at kernel level with cable plugged in.
EDID returns 0 bytes, no hotplug events in dmesg, HPD pin never fires.
Key findings:
- amdgpu_dm_disable_hpd = 0
- dc = -1 (auto), DCN 1.0 initialized fine
- connector[97]: HDMI-A-1 exists in DRM state but crtc=(null)
- ATPX Hybrid Graphics detected (functions 0x00000001) but vgaswitcheroo not registered
- GTX 1650 completely absent from lspci
- Runtime PM not available
Tried:
- echo detect > /sys/class/drm/card1-HDMI-A-1/status
- amdgpu.dc=1 amdgpu.dpm=1 kernel params
- acpi_osi=! acpi_osi=Windows 2015
- Windows Fast Startup disabled + cold shutdown
- Downgraded mesa, linux-firmware-amdgpu, kernel individually — all still broken
- Kernel tested back to 6.19.11 — all broken, no older cache available
Broken since at least 6.19.11. Was working at some point before that.

What's your HDMI connected to? If its the dGPU but that doesn't show in lspci then that will be a problem, make sure it's not disabled in your UEFI. You might also want to update first, you're at least a minor kernel release and two mesa releases out of date. Can you try to repro on the LTS kernel, which should still be a 6.18 base, which would preclude your problems (however if they've been introduced by stable release patches issues in this space could have been backported to it).
That said very little to actively go by here, post a system journal

3 tried Linux 6.18.36-1-lts, no results
I'm having a hard time accessing the BIOS on boot, i have no idea what the admin password is
