Arch website background high resolution request / question

This: https://accounts.archlinux.org/resource … yt-hFt.jpg , I saw it at https://accounts.archlinux.org/realms/a … gistration, very nice shade fits so nicely with blue. Is there any higher resolution version of this somewhere? Am I allowed to use it?

Re: Arch website background high resolution request / question

In GIMP (extra/gimp) the general workflow to get this effect is:

  • Create an empty image of the size you need.

  • Filters → Render → Noise → Plasma

  • Colors → Desaturate → Desaturate

  • Filters → Light and shadow → Lighting effects

  • In the “Bump map” tab select your current image as the one to be used

  • Have fun with the settings. For this kind of surface look setting specular reflection to 0 is a good idea, as it should have none.

  • Finishing tweaks, on both ends (input, output) of the “Lightning effects” filter
