Hello guys,
It seems i have to create a sso account in order to report an issue on the arch gitlab. I was redirected to accounts.archlinux.org and tried to register there.
After submitting the form, a red box appears with the message "Invalid Recaptcha". No network request is made to google *re*captcha servers (thanks!)
The custom captcha "What is the output of: [...]" seems to be okay; deleting or adding a letter to the checksum(-part) generates a red "Nope" message.
According to other posts her, the gitlab approval seems to be manual and take multiple weeks. I therefore hope I can work this out soon and finally create an issue/work item.
Can someone help me? Has anyone else had problems with (re)captcha?
Thanks!
Konrad

adblocker?
No, I dont think so
I tried different browsers and devices and even networks. Thankfully, none of those show a request to google servers (not even a failed or blocked one).
I also believe and hope that the use of google recaptcha wouldnt even be considered for archlinux, so maybe it is a naming error? Then, maybe the captcha at the bottom silently fails (without showing "Nope")

Oh, hold on - have you applied for an account at accountsupport@archlinux.org?
Automatic registration is disabled, but idk what the symptoms of that are and accounts.archlinux.org actually has a register link.
Online
https://accounts.archlinux.org/realms/a … gistration does use https://www.hcaptcha.com/ however as seth pointed out automatic registration is disabled.

The notification on the https://gitlab.archlinux.org/users/sign … eferer=yes says: "Due to an influx of spam, we have had to require each new account to be manually approved. Please register an account and then write an email to accountsupport@archlinux.org to get it approved. Sorry for the inconvenience.".
So if the registration is disabled, how are we to register an account and then email you guys?
I am very much interested in joining the development team (newbie programmer, but relying on self-learning and improvement; and not Ai Slop) and doing my best to contribute and learn.

You just send an email and informally ask for an account that will then be manually created (what can take some time, the entire process isn't great)
You obviously don't need an account to do that.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Getting_involved should give you some ideas to start with.
malinglists and IRC channels don't require archlinux.org accounts.
