Re: X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range

Please use

tags, not "quote" tags. Edit your post in this regard.
Please post your Xorg log, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General and the output of

loginctl session-status

The inability to create an X11 window suggests you're maybe on a wayland session and lack xwayland.
Can you run https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/xorg-xeyes/ ?

Re: X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range

You install them (glxgears is in mesa-utils) and type the commands into an interactive shell

Re: X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range

What do you think has to happen?
How can you ensure the driver is no longer in use?
The $60k question is whether fixing glx made steam happy.

Re: X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range

Restarting xwayland would have done, does the xorg log show you using the modesetting driver?
Can you run steam from an X11 session (openbox will do)?
