"X11 environment not found" nspluginwrapper help

I'm using arch64 0.7 and downloaded nspluginwrapper. When I run ./configure I get

X11 environment not found

Please can someone tell mw what I need to install or specify to satisfy this? I'm really trying to get the flash plugin working. Thanks.

already have that installed. it sounds like the configure needs a location for the X11 development files or maybe I just need to install them. The thing is I don't know what package name(s) I need to install for this.

Any ideas anyone?

for nspluginwrapper there should be a pkg in the community repo.

if you want to compile it yourself check the configure or gcc messages to find out what header file is missing. then check if it is already installed and only not detected or if it is missed at all.

ok I've double checked and I already have the community repos enabled. When I do

pacman -Ss ndis

There is no package for ndisplugin.

Does anyone know which repo I can add to get this?

nspluginwrapper doesn't start with the letters "ndis" ;-)

sry. it's only in AUR.

ok I've use pakepkg then pacman -A to install the resulting packages for

nspluginwrapper 0.9.91.2-1
nspluginwrapper-flash 9.0.31.0-2

Both installed fine with no errors. Now what am I missing?

I tried firefox but it does not find the plugins for flash.

Did you run the command line mentioned by the post-install instructions? You have to run

nspluginwrapper -v -a -i

for each user account that wants to use plugins since nspluginwrapper installs the plugins into $HOME/.mozilla/plugins (which must exist before running nspluginwrapper).

Ok, jumping in here. I got this far but nspluginwrapper is a symbolic link to something that isn't there.

[clint@cloud mydocs]$ nspluginwrapper -v -a -i
bash: nspluginwrapper: command not found
[clint@cloud mydocs]$ ls -l /usr/bin/nspluginwrapper
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 40 2007-02-22 11:33 /usr/bin/nspluginwrapper -> /usr/lib/nspluginwrapper/x86_64/npconfig

All right, I should have waited to finish digging before posting. Those files where just left out of the PKGBUILD. They're included in nspluginwrapper-0.9.91.2-1.x86_64.rpm. Now, to test it out.

ok I have go thte the point where nspluginwrapper seems to be available as a command but it does not find any flash plugin even though I have installed the nspluginwrapper-flash 9.0.31.0-2 which has put libflashplayer.so into /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins. I have also made the ~/.mozilla/plugins folder and copied libflashplayer.so into that folder and re-run the command but stil lnothing is detected. The command I used was (as the user)

nspluginwrapper -v -a -i

If I try to specify the actual plugin I get this:

nspluginwrapper -i /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so
nspluginwrapper: /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so is not a valid NPAPI plugin

can't see what I'm missing!

That's strange. nspluginwrapper-0.9.91.2-1.x86_64.rpm is included as part of AUR's nspluginwrapper package. There's a script called rpmextract.sh that is also included, and is presumably responsible for automatically extracting the contents of the RPM as part of the packaging process.

Are you sure you downloaded the whole package from AUR, and not just the PKGBUILD? If you're still having problems, try removing the bits and pieces of nspluginwrapper you've already installed and starting over with the complete package.

o_O That's too complicated, I think. If you downloaded the complete pckage from AUR, installing nspluginwrapper and nspluginwrapper-flash should automatically do all the copying and symlinking for you as necessary.

What's the output of

pacman -Ql nspluginwrapper

Ok I went back and used pacman -A to install the 2 packages. Still firefox does not show any plugins when I try about:plugins. Here is the output of that command..

ok I solved the problem! just did

sudo pacman -S lib32-gtk2

Works perfect now thanks for all your posts.
