Hi everyone, I am attempting to update the BIOS on a Lenovo ThinkPad E16 Gen 3 (Intel Core Ultra 7 255H). When running fwupdmgr update,the command prompts for a system reboot as expected. However, upon rebooting, the Lenovo firmware update screen never triggers, and the laptop simply boots directly back into Arch with the BIOS version remaining unchanged.
Running fwupdmgr get-results for the system firmware returns “Failed to find 25d674977dae8f6f566319fc8fc13f4405437e12 in history database: No devices found,”
Additionally, I attempted a manual flash using Lenovo’s bootable CD ISO (r30uj58wd.iso) via geteltorito.pl and writing it to a USB drive with dd. When booting from the USB via F12, the installer boots but immediately halts with the error: “The system program file was not found on the CD. Insert the correct CD in the drive.”
Any help would be greatly appreciated
I have dual booted with windows and have not used the efi partition as windows.
