Hello,
I have been trying to compile openvz, because it seems the packages are not offered anywhere anymore but this has not been possible.
Or, rather, when I last tried to compile openvz, this was not possible. I couldn't get the thousands of configuration options just right for the configuration to even compile, let alone work so of course I gave up.
Anyone could have a working configuration of this?
PS: I am posting here, even though, openvz is essentially a userspace setup because this specific issue relates to the kernel.

openvz is bitrot, the last release was a decade ago, the latest (open) bug reports slightly predate that and it would likely require quite some patches to compile for a modern™ stack at all (resp. many more patches to provide a somewhat recent kernel)
You could try to build it on a VM running an ancient system (resp. would not have to build it because the older OS might just ship it)… why do you think you want to do that?

Openvz is still actively developed. There's new patches every day. It is not a large patch, it basically allows for OSes to make system calls through the underlying OS so I could categorize it as something that is... userspace level.
I have no idea why it is not publicly available anymore but it's probably because the skillset is not available in public - heh

Looks RHEL specific, nb. https://bitbucket.org/openvz/kpatch/com … 58a3360b95

Okay, sure. Maybe I can get a RHEL .config file to at least start with? ;-)
