[SOLVED]audio device keeps going back to the microphone.

I installed arch based on the wiki and it all went pretty smooth but when I try to set the default audio card it wont change.

according to the wiki by changing

defaults.pcm.card
defaults.ctl.card

it should work but when ever I plug my microphone (previous default) it switches to it with no relation to where I plug it.

I am not exactly sure what would help identify the problem,

the output of

 cat /proc/asound/cards 

is

and in the alsa config its

defaults.pcm.card 3
defaults.ctl.card 3

also I should mention the fact that the audio works fine when the microphone is not plugged in
