and the github page did tell to use prime-run witht the command on hybrid gpu laptops so i did
and i have kde plasma and hyprland installed on my system but i am pretty sure i ran that command on hyprland. and i am also sure that i use wayland and xwayland things only. im not sure what kind of info to give so i have given the packages list

The davinci resolve checker hasn't been very useful since DR got much better logging itself (years ago..) . Guess no one bothered to change the wiki.

The fact clinfo can't find any devices suggests something is wrong with your opencl setup, but sofar there's no clue what that something is.

Ok, that's not somehow some official tool.

You do have kwin-x11 6.7.4-1 installed so log into a plasma/X11 session and check clinfo there.

huh i only see plasma / wayland as an option to log into ( for kde plasma ). maybe i'm missing some other packages? and i'm trying to get clinfo working on both my hyprland and plasma / wayland

oh ok thanks! i will try to run davinci on x11 plasma instead. i am trying to run the davinci resolve 16 but one thing i hate abt the plasma x11 is that i can't have seperate settings app for that. anything i change there applies to the plasma - wayland aswell.

For a quick test on whether this is in any way related to the DR situation I doubt it's necessary to fiddle that much with general plasma settings, no? Speaking of which, if this is a concern you might want to consider testing as a separate user, that might even uncover whether it's related to your user profile and not strictly wayland/x11 per se.

and now that I'm rechecking your package list, you have a version mismatch between nvidia-580-xxx-{dkms,utils} and {lib32-}nvidia-580xx-opencl the opencl packages are newer (580.178.04-1) , the kernel and utils packages older (580.173.02-1). Make sure you update completely and that the distinct version components of the packages actually match, which will likely explain most of your issues.
