shotcut was last built before the ffmpeg 9.0 update which broke more stuff than Allan.
Assuming it operates on a plugin basis you can try to install ffmpeg4.4, otherwise try to downgrade ffmpeg to the latest 8.x release.

Might just need a rebuild, but could also be API incompatible.

There is no trace of a crash in the posted terminal output. If there actually is one, you will have to post a backtrace.

I also think shotcut needs a rebuild using current ffmpeg version.

I downgrade shotcut to 26.4.30-1 and that's the highest version it opens while keeping my current versions of ffmpeg and ffmpeg4.4

Did you previously use 26.7.30-1 ?
Does 26.4.30-1 actually load ffmpeg (or ffmpeg4.4)?
If this is an immediate regression it likely comes from the ffmpeg update, you need to confirm that by downgrading ffmpeg, not something else.
Then we'll need to figure whether it's API or ABI incompatible.

I see no generally problem with shotcut and ffmpeg here:

Starting shotcut on terminal opens the expected program window. No "crash-like" things or error messages.
I'm on KDE/Plasma(wayland)

Difference i see:
I don't get the gtk-warnings and the qt.qpa.services message in my output.

What DE/Windowmanager/Compositor are you using?
Maybe try:
- a full uograded system (or at least current shotcut version)
- create a fresh new user, start this with your Desktop but don't change anything like themes/settings therein.
- start/try shotcut from a terminal
Do you get the same misbehavior like with your main user?

OP doesn't have https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x8 … bcanberra/ nor adwaita - Qt probably accesses them through the gtk style plugin?

If this is an immediate regression it likely comes from the ffmpeg update, you need to confirm that by downgrading ffmpeg, not something else. Then we'll need to figure whether it's API or ABI incompatible.

Right now I'm making some videos and later in the week I can try upgrade again shoutcut and downgrade ffmpeg, but with this info. is still necesary?

Now, using updated version of shotcut I couldn't downgrade ffmpeg to ffmpeg-2_8.1.2-9 or ffmpeg4.4 because:

So the gtk errors come from the Qt gtk style but are not the problem.
Might be some local config or cache (in which case this probably won't fix with updates)

The question which outstands since thread starting:
So there is nothing related to the "crash" in the terminal output.
But: Do you get anything in journal and/or coredumpctl ?
Watch (and report if something occurs):

sudo journalctl -f

when you start/"crash" the affected shotcut version.
Also look if:

coredumpctl -S today

give any listed dump if you start/"crash" the affected shotcut version //today.
