Asus zenbook glitchy touchpad

So about a month ago, I got an open box Asus Zenbook 14, been using Arch just fine, but I found out the touchpad sometimes jumps or clicks randomly. Furthermore, it sometimes just stops working completely and I have to power it down, hold the power button for ~30 seconds, then power it on again for the touchpad to work again. Any help would be appreciated.

If your touchpad is a Synaptics touchpad, try the following:

01) If not installed, install xf86-input-evdev and xf86-input-synaptics.

02) From the command line: 

sudo cp /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/70-synaptics.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/70-synaptics.conf

03) As superuser, use your preferred text editor to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/70-synaptics.conf.

04) Under the section containing wording regarding synaptics driver, add the following two lines below MatchIsTouchpad "on":

Option "TapButton1" "1"
Option "TapButton2" "3"

05) You should now have something similar to the following:

Section "InputClass"
        Identifier "touchpad catchall"
        Driver "synaptics"
        MatchIsTouchpad "on"
        Option "TapButton1" "1"
        Option "TapButton2" "3"
# This option is recommend on all Linux systems using evdev, but cannot be
# enabled by default. See the following link for details:
# http://who-t.blogspot.com/2010/11/how-to-ignore-configuration-errors.html
#       MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"

06) Save your changes and reboot your computer. The touchpad should now work.
