Laptop ASUS TUF A17 hangs on resume from suspend

All,

Every now and then, my laptop (ASUS TUF A17 FA707NV_FA707NV) running KDE/Plasma does not come back from suspend.

See my log from this morning when this happens:

I found this post : https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=296954 which suggest setting ' SYSTEMD_SLEEP_FREEZE_USER_SESSIONS=false' , but it appears that this is the case already.

Any pointers for where to look?

I'm having the same issue on my MSI Modern A14. While searching a solution I've found this old post, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=282614, but it does not apply to my laptop as I don't have AMD chipset/GPU. Maybe it can be helpful to you.
Do you see the cited USB errors? (=> https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … #p2078239)? Because I'm getting them too.

So this is a hybrid system but apparently there're not outputs on the amdgpu chip and the stalling nvidia driver calls involve a crtc check…

What does this look like IRL, why is the eDP not wired to the APU?
Did you try to disable the APU in the BIOS but the BIOS fudged that?
Can you disable either chip in the BIOS?
Are there other outputs or only the internal panel?

@giuliof, can we see a journal covering your situation as well?
s3/s2idle related issues aren't that uncommon and there's a plethora of reasons for them, so this might be completely different.

The tail won't show what that device is, what else is on the bus and what might have caused any of this, but you're on S3 (not s2idle) and there's apparently no nvidia hardware => you should create an own thread.
It also seems that the usb errors are a constant fixture, are there any external usb devices attached?
Do webcam and bluetooth work or are either expected but missing?

Do you restart from there w/ the power button? (The OP could https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Keyboa … el_(SysRq) + REISUB out of the frozen state)
