I moved the 3 commands to a separate shell file, added an entry in /etc/sudoers.d/local with this:

%wheel ALL=(ALL:ALL) NOPASSWD: /usr/local/bin/display-on.sh

and now it should work with no problems. Thanks for the feedback.
