After updating AUR packages nvidia-580xx-dkms, nvidia-580xx-580xx-utils and opencl-nvidia-580xx to version 580.178.04-3, gnome-shell 1:51.0-1 crashes continuously (gdm screen doesn't even appear).
I had to downgrade to 580.178.04-2.

I know that pkgrel 3 is to correct a crash of plasma, but it doesn't play well with gnome-shell 51 while pkgrel 2 does.

Thank you seth for linking this post in AUR comments and thank you ventureo for the correction in pkgrel 4. No more problem with gnome-shell with the last version of nvidia-580xx-utils (580.178.04-4).
Problem solved !
