I imagine that the bug isn't limited to Telegram Desktop but also affects QT applications running on GNOME 51 that use the same QT backend, but I haven't been able to verify this 100% because I can't think of any that I might have installed that use the same backend.
The thing is, ever since we updated to GNOME 51, scrolling with the mouse wheel in Telegram Desktop chats has been quite slow compared to other desktop applications.

I don't know if it's related, but I'd say they're two separate bugs involving the mouse wheel that just happen to coincide.

Are non-Qt clients affected?

I don't notice it in GTK applications. It only happens with the Telegram client, which is built with Qt. However, I've tested it with Wireshark (which, if I recall correctly, is also built with Qt), and I don't notice the scrolling being as slow as it is in Telegram, so it might be an issue limited to certain Qt applications (perhaps due to the Qt version).

Did you maybe co-incidentally update to Qt 6.12?
Do you have a mouse w/ a high-resolution wheel?
Do you have another one?

Did you maybe co-incidentally update to Qt 6.12?
It may have coincided with the update, but what is clear is that right now I have qt6-base 6.12.0-2.
Do you have a mouse w/ a high-resolution wheel?
It's a very basic Tecknet mouse. I don't think the scroll wheel is high-resolution.
Do you have another one?
Yes, I tried using another very old mouse I have (and an extremely basic one) that I'm absolutely certain isn't high-resolution at all, and the same thing happens. It's especially noticeable in Telegram's chat views, where scrolling with the mouse wheel is very minimal.

See https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=315145 again, does it help to "export QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb" ?
Offline
If I run it with `QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb`, it simply doesn't display the window. It's probably because I have the bare minimum required to run QT applications on my GNOME desktop.
