Relevant information might be that my laptop is a Lenovo P1 Gen5. I also seem to have a problem with this laptop when I close the lid, it kernel panics and then I need to recover the whole OS. I'm sure that's a different setting and fix but I'm just putting it out there....
Having heard back from the manufacturer they suggested to add usb.autosuspend=-1 to the kernel line, so here's my grub.cfg file:

2. Disable USB 3.0 Link Power Management (LPM) via udev or Kernel Parameters
If the hardware functions normally otherwise and the log spam is the main issue, you can disable U1/U2 LPM for the specific vendor/product ID or globally. [1]You can add udev rules targeting the specific device attributes (ATTR{power/usb3_hardware_lpm_u1}="disabled").
Alternatively, for specific embedded or driver issues, kernel quirks or device tree flags (such as snps,usb2-lpm-disable) are often applied
but I'm not sure what the best fix is or if something is being overridden in the bios if it can do that?
Would anyone be able to suggest anything?
Thanks.

Does the notebook run on external power or battery?
Are the "Player One Filter Switch" and "Ares-M PRO" one physical device that shows up as two USB nodes or are they attached to an unrelated external hub?
(Though the device that seems to flicker the most is the Ceres 462M)
Google Gemini suggested this:
First check the present state:
tail /sys/bus/usb/devices/*/power/*lpm*Because of the intermittency, please post your complete system journal for a boot w/ such disconnects, eg.
sudo journalctl -b -1 | nc termbin.com 9999 for the previous (-1) one.
Maybe there's some userspace context to explain the disconnects.

Google suggests this:
The "Device not responding to setup address" error (often paired with kernel error -71 or -32) means the host controller can talk to the USB device initially, but the device fails to acknowledge or accept the unique address assigned to it during the enumeration process.
Common Causes
• Hardware or Port Damage: Bent pins, dust, or physical wear inside the USB port or connector.
• Faulty Cables or Hubs: A broken extension cable, a bad USB hub dropping power or data packets, or poor soldering on custom/DIY hardware.
• Power Insufficiency: The USB port or hub cannot supply enough steady voltage or current during the handshake.
• Firmware or Signal Timing Issues: In custom microcontrollers (like STM32, AVR, or custom PCBs), poor crystal/oscillator stability or data line (D+/D- or CCx) misconfigurations.
No idea....

Ps. you also ask about the Wifi disconnects.... I am using a very old Cisco WLC which I'm sure is about 20+ years old now. so that might be the reason?? I have the same problem with all wifi devices unfortunately

Yup.
I can think of here is that one of the cameras has an extra USBC port which the Filter Wheel is plugged into
The secondary hub might be a detail of the notebook - you can check lsusb -tv w/o the devices plugged in to see whether the hub is still there.
Nevertheless, try to use one of the devices only to see whether that remains stable.
I can't disable them at all??
I suspect that the rule hits before the interface is set up…
echo disabled | sudo tee /sys/bus/usb/devices/2-1/power/usb3_hardware_lpm_u1https://askubuntu.com/a/1459634
nb. that this is a USB3 only thing and two of the struggling devices are attached via USB2

I'll check the BIOS out later today....
It's kinda weird but I still feel that this system isn't fully supported as there are really odd things like the keyboard not working properly sometimes.... I type and key presses don't get read etc....
I tried the command you suggested before in a different thread!
This is the result:
# echo disabled | sudo tee /sys/bus/usb/devices/2-1/power/usb3_hardware_lpm_u1
tee: /sys/bus/usb/devices/2-1/power/usb3_hardware_lpm_u1: Permission denied
disabledRun as root.... file has rrr permissions.
nb. that this is a USB3 only thing and two of the struggling devices are attached via USB2
What? Hang on I'll need to check that out!
I'm guessing the Filter Wheel, which is the other? The Ceres device?
Ah.... before I forget I should mention, earlier I attached a USB SSD drive to the remaining USBC port.
The system ended up in Kernel Panic!
I ended up having to reboot as the disk stop functioning

Ok just checked bios and no usb settings...
One thing I did see is PCIe Tunneling for ThunderBolt 4 which is enabled
So far I just changed the Sleep mode which was set to Windows/Linux to simply Linux S3 - maybe that will help?

"pcie_aspm=off", https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Kernel_parameters
I'd suggest to verify principal functionality - if you *only* plug some dumb usb key (no other external USB devices) does that remain stable or eventually falls off the bus as well?
