AMDGPU XFCE Crashing to login in games
As per title, It's been happening for a while and have no idea how to fix it. I thought it was fixed 6 or so months ago but it still does it. In Diablo 2 resurrected and now Hellraiser games it will out of the blue just stop then logout. It seems to be ok in KDE Plasma but not real keen on that.

ok the log. It started in 6.18 when the amd card were all crashing and hasn't stopped (Although a lot better than it was then).

Changed the /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-amdgpu.conf by adding the variablerefresh and tearfree lines :

Yes can run in kde plasma all day no problem. Weird thing is if I use xfwl4 or labwc it will work fine but when I change from say labwc to xfwl4 it will start crashing again.
Just installed git version of xf86-video-amdgpu will see how that goes, Hellraiser the crash is very quickly reproducible.
EDIT: Changed to Linux-zen and added those flags in 10-amdgpu.conf and have had no crashes yet (Don't want to jinx it)

I know that's why I also have labwc but seems I may be able to get rid of both of them for now as linux-zen seems to have stopped the crashing

Went fine until I reinstalled the standard xf86-video-amdgpu then it crashed again. Just installed the git version again but if it goes down again may just have to suck up using kde for a while

What if you just remove the xf86-video-amdgpu package and use the modesetting driver?
(You'll also have to remove the config you added in #8, otherwise the server will try to use that no longer existing driver)

What if you just remove the xf86-video-amdgpu package and use the modesetting driver?
(You'll also have to remove the config you added in #8, otherwise the server will try to use that no longer existing driver)
Removed xf86-video-amdgpu and ran it for a while and no crashes. Will continue testing and report back in the morning it's late here now, But so far so good without the xf86-video package

Did you compile any of the tested xf86-video-amdgpu drivers locally?
(The ABI break might have unforseen consequences but if you built the driver yourself against the latest server version that should not impact you)
Running the modesetting driver is more like what wayland does - and it comes w/ the xorg-server package

If you mean the git version https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/xf86 … amdgpu-git Yes. Ran games for a few hours last night with no crashes. Have just got the git version and ran it with makepkg -si this time instead of paru, Still didn't really take long to build, like a few seconds. Will see how it goes but otherwise will just drop them if it crashes again.
EDIT: Took all of 5 minutes and was just using browser and it did it so amdgpu gone until it's fixed.

24 hours later and only had 1 crash back to login, Which could likely be just put down to UE5.
EDIT: Still crashing but starting to think it's because of the mouse, It seems every time it crashes I either move or press a button on the mouse. I have added "EnablePageFlip" "off" to a etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-amdgpu.conf file as stated in the wiki, Will see how that goes.
