[SOLVED] mesa-1:26.2.3-2 and 26.2.4-1: X11 segfaults

Since upgrading to mesa-1:26.2.3-2, X11 fails to start with 'unw_get_proc_name failed: no unwind info found [-10]' followed by a segfault. I've found several other threads with the same problem, but all of these are radically different hardware from mine and don't seem to provide any insight that is relevant to me. This is the only one that provides a clear, actionable solution, which, as far as I can tell, is no help to me because of the hardware mismatch.

Platform is HP ProBook 445 G8 with
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600U
GPU: AMD Radeon Vega 8 Mobile Graphics

Re: [SOLVED] mesa-1:26.2.3-2 and 26.2.4-1: X11 segfaults

Indeed, removing TearFree (which also allows me to safely uninstall xf86-video-amdgpu) is the fix. Marking solved.

Re: [SOLVED] mesa-1:26.2.3-2 and 26.2.4-1: X11 segfaults

Since the issue started after upgrading Mesa, it might be worth checking the package changes between versions 3-1 and 3-2, along with any related Xorg or kernel updates. Hopefully someone with a similar Ryzen 5 5600U setup can help narrow down the cause. Good luck troubleshooting!

This has nothing to do - read the *solved* thread to understand the problem.
