Hello! So yesterday after using cheap 100 yr old laptops I but the bullet and bought myself the Zenbook Duo (32gb ram Intel ultra x9.) it's a dual screen laptop (the keyboard magnetically sits ontop the bottom screen and can be removed and its pretty cool. But now I'm regretting my decision as I can barely find any info on running Linux on the dual screen. I could've gotten a lessed processor and a smaller pro art with 128gb of ram and in thinking I should've done that.
but I'd like to install arch with hyprland or niri and run dank material shell (that's my go to set up). Or should I just use a VM to run Linux. I just don't know anything about windows as it's been so long so I have no idea what I'm doing on it

I'd give Arch a try on that machine. I'd start by testing both displays, touchscreen input, and rotation, since those are the main things that could need extra configuration on a dual-screen laptop.
The ArchWiki Touchscreen guide explains how to troubleshoot touchscreen detection and multi-display setups. I'd also check the ASUS Linux guide for ASUS-specific tools.
I'd test the hardware before deciding whether a VM is necessary. If both screens work properly, I'd go with a native installation.

Gabriel

Thanks for the advice! I'm curious about one thing: have you tested whether both screens work reliably at the same time under Hyprland or Niri, especially when using the touchscreen and changing the screen orientation? I'm wondering if the main challenge is hardware detection or getting the two displays to behave properly as an extended desktop.
