Cannot create filesystem (mke2fs -j /dev/sda1)

Hi,

I have a problem creating a filesystem.

I have partitioned my harddrive in three:

sda1 bootable Linux
sda3 Linux swap / Solaris
sda4 Linux

When I set sda3 as my swap, sda1 as my / (ext3), and sda3 as my /home (ext3), and select "Done" I get the following error:

Error creating filesystem: mke2fs -j /dev/sda1

hmm How can I create this system? Or what the hell is wrong?

(for the record: sda2 is a fourt partition created by Lenovo that serves as a recovery disk. I will not remove this partition as I would like to preserve the functionality of the Lenovo Care button.)

Re: Cannot create filesystem (mke2fs -j /dev/sda1)

I moved swap to the end of the, drive and it worked fine.
