is unstable ok?

Ok i successfully installed arch .8 and i am incredibly pleased . I see why everyone says the distro hunt stops here, but i am wondering  if unstable is um, stable? I am looking to install beryl, and i dont mind unstable if it isnt completley buggy, or maybe is there a way just to use the unstable repo to get beryl? Inderectly an installation question but it has elements from X, pacman, and installation so i figuired i would put it here.

Typically applications in [unstable] are the development versions of other packages (for some, the real packages may not have been released).  Basically, the stability is a case-by-case basis, and more up to the application's developers than us (some development versions work one day, then fail the next)
