Openbox question

Is Openbox still maintained? There are no news about any new release
It's a very good wm, it would be a pity if it was obsolete

I'm using version 3.3.1, does SVN version have any new features or sth? Is it stable?

Re: Openbox question

Openbox is still being maintained, though there's not much new stuff happening. Though most code changes are bug fixes, there's a new feature sneaking in every now and then. For example it is possible to show the client list as combined list for all desktops (rather than showing a submenu for each desktop) for a few weeks now.

The code in the subversion repository is stable, it's basically the last release with a few bugfixes and very few changes feature-wise.

Ok, here's a new feature that's in SVN trunk: A combined client-list menu. It shows the apps from all deskops in a single menu instead of creating a submenu for every desktop. It's not all that spectacular, but it is new wink

Also the original Openbox developer reappeared in #openbox recently and started to talk about working on ob again. He also listed a lot new and fancy stuff he'd like to see in Openbox...

I have to add new entry in rc file?

Re: Openbox question

I just keep getting that error running as root or with sudo. Tried pacman -Scc to no avail.

Re: Openbox question

@arox1 edit your rc.xml change client-list-menu to client-list-combined-menu [don't forget to run reconfigure after!]

That worked. Cheers. smile

Don't even know why I use pacget because it doesn't make any difference.
