Where to download arch64-8.0 iso

Hi folks,

Where can I download arch64-8.0 iso ?

On
ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/other/0.8/x86_64

I found;

base-0.8-beta1-20070123-x86_64.iso      155476 KB      01/23/2007      05:49:00 AM
base-0.8-beta2-20070223-x86_64.iso     144196 KB     02/23/2007     11:03:00 PM
current-0.8-beta1-20070123-x86_64.iso     536862 KB     01/23/2007     05:49:00 AM
current-0.8-beta2-20070223-x86_64.iso     516362 KB     02/23/2007     11:03:00 PM
ftp-0.8-beta1-20070123-x86_64.iso     19826 KB     01/23/2007     05:49:00 AM
ftp-0.8-beta2-20070223-x86_64.iso

Those are beta version.  Is a stable version available?

If for testing I suppose to download "current-0.8-beta2-20070223-x86_64.iso"

Please advise.  TIA

Re: Where to download arch64-8.0 iso

0.8-beta2-20070223-x86_64.iso   would be the one you want.
all the Arch .iso  are just the intaller version , once you install , you would update with Pacman , and they would all give you the same updated Arch system.
Base has all of the stable files to give you a bootable Arch without any GUI desktop
ftp has a Minimal bootable installer , that then gets all the latest from the internet
not sure what the difference is between base and current

hope this helps

Base has only base packages (enough to boot and download everything else), current has almost entire current repository - xorg, some windowmanagers, firefox...

Re: Where to download arch64-8.0 iso

Hi Pick2 and Stalwart,

Tks for your advice.  I'll download Current.

I'm prepared to run arch64 as server, web, mail, database, etc. for test only.  I need X for running GUI browser because I don't feel comfortable on browsing with text browser, elinks.  Although I have certain experience on running elinks.  Frequently complaint popup on browsing some websites on elinks, requesting to run a GUI browser.  I won't get X started at boot only evoked when necessary.  Xfce4 will be my preferrable desktop.

Are there available documents re installation of server on arch64 Linux?  Tks.

If you're installing server - get ftp iso - it will download most recent packages

Hi Stalwart,

Whether;
ftp-0.8-beta2-20070223-x86_64.iso
???

What I'm worrying is - can't the onboard NIC be detected?  Otherwise I can't establish broadband connection.  The server is connected on 6MB highway.

Tks.
