How to find out which program accessed harddisc?

The subject tells it all. I'm using a laptop, and I am curious, which software is accessing my harddisc all the time. Any ideas?

There you go:

http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/power-management-guide.xml

it's called lm-profiler

I'd guess it's the filesystem journal that gets updated every 5 seconds. Installing laptop-mode-tools might help.

EDIT: whoa I'm slow. lm-profiler is included in laptop-mode-tools.
