putting companies in evolution address book

I have a number of companies who I don't have contact names for in my evolution address book but as it insists on having a surname to go with all entries I have to put some dummy info into the surname field to get the entry saved.

Does anyone know a way to stop the surname field from being mandatory or has anyone else got a better way of getting round this than having entries for Mr A, Mr B etc.
