I'm running Arch on my laptop, but I can't get it to see any cards in my PCMCIA slot. When I run cartctl, is says there's a Socket0, but when I do cardctl insert, nothing happens. Removing and reinserting the card has no effect. Any ideas?
Thanks

Are you starting the pcmcia daemon? Check the DAEMONS variable in /etc/rc.conf.

Looking in my log, I see this:
Apr 20 19:26:44 localhost kernel: PCMCIA: socket f7ce6030: *** DANGER *** unable to remove socket power

What does cardctl ident say when the card is plugged in and when it's not in?

[root@localhost log]# cardctl ident
Socket 0:
no product info available
That's what it says in both cases.

Looks like it's not detecting the card in there... maybe you should try a different pcmcia module (/etc/conf.d/pcmcia)? Or set different options? I don't know, I've never had problems like that.
