big fonts in x... what happend?

I suddenly have quite big fonts in X applications and in my WMs menues (Fluxbox & KDE). It's not that they are really, really BIG but, they are definateley bigger than before which is quite annoying. The problem appeared today when I restarted my xserver (I had not done that for a week or two as I usually just suspend to disk instead of rebooting).

I had a bigger update recently (have a look at the log below) and I guess there is a connection to my problem. Has anyone encountered similiar problems recently? Any idea which package might be the origin or what else could have gone wrong?

I was thinking about 'pango' but I couldn't find an older package version and I decided to ask for other ideas before building one myself.

Or is there a simple way to (re)set X's default font size?

They say if you reverse play a Windows CD you can hear satanic verses... But wanna know what's even worse? If you forward play it, it's gonna install Windows on your system!

Re: big fonts in x... what happend?

xorg's default DPI changed with the last upgrade. Make sure you have an accurate DisplaySize setting in Section "Monitor" in xorg.conf.

Re: big fonts in x... what happend?

Okay, finally everything looks neat again...

There was actually no "DisplaySize" set in "Monitor". So I entered my values there which resultet in smaller fonts (but I guess they were still a bit bigger than before). Afterwards I had a look in the Arch wiki where I found this:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/XOr … i_settings
Entering 75 as dpi value finally resulted in nice small fonts.

Thank you.
