KDE Control Center doesn't accept root password?! Help!

Hi all.

Everything's been fine on Arch so far, but I just changed my hostname (dunno if that's connected or not) and now Control Centre will not accept my root password!

In the console I can su, etc and I can log in as root. But if I try to alter my login settings (for the login screen etc), I enter the correct root password, and it's not allowed!!

Any ideas about this anyone? I'll do a little more fiddling and add anything interesting I find.
