I found that some apps does not show up on xfce4 menu after instaling (even rebooting). For example, d4x is one such app. Any reason or workaround?
Offline
d4x probably doesn't provide a .desktop file in /usr/share/applications. Your workaround is to manually add the app to the menu, using the menu editor.

xfce, gnome and kde use freedesktop thingie for menu generation. If you don't see some program then packager didn't include .desktop file.

It does, just play a little more with the tool and you will find out how it works.

If you do not mind redoing icons or removing them you could also use menumaker. I would save the original in case you don't like menumakers.

if you find an application that is not shown in the Xfce4 menu but in other desktops please report it via flyspray. the xfce menu has long know bug and it's simple to fix inside all the *.desktop file.
