idesk help!

Okay I've tried everything I can think of and have the feeling that I'm missing something stupid. So I hope someone can kindly point this out to me

I cannot get idesk to properly work. It always bails out when it attempts to locate the icon I have pointed to.  Here is my .ideskrc file

table Config
  FontName: tahoma
  FontSize: 10
  FontColor: #ffffff
  PaddingX: 35
  PaddingY: 25
  Transparency: 130
  HighContrast: false
  Locked: false
  Shadow: false
  ShadowColor: #000000
  ShadowX: 1
  ShadowY: 1
  Bold: false
end

in my .idesktop directory, I have made a xchat.lnk file:

table Icon
  Caption: XChat
  Command: xchat
  Icon: /home/deepfreeze/.idesktop/marble/apps/xchat.png
  X: 180
  Y: 20
end

now when I attempt to run idesk, I get the following error:
[deepfreeze@protium .idesktop]$ idesk
Couldn't find image  /home/deepfreeze/.idesktop/marble/apps/xchat.png, bailing.

I know the path is okay and there are no permission conflicts.  I've checked it over time and time again. Anyone with any insight on this please help smile

Re: idesk help!

I had this same problem.. it seems idesk is picky about where the icons are located.. what i did.. was put the icon in the /home/username/.idesktop directory itself.. as opposed to within subdirectories.

so being that yours is in /home/username/.idesktop/marble/apps.

move it to /home/username/.idesktop and correct the path in the .lnk file and this should work. it did for me.

drop me a line if it doesn't.. via icq/msn/etc.

I bought a dog the other day...I named him Stay. It's fun to call him...  "Come here, Stay! Come here, Stay!" He went insane. Now he just ignores me and drools.

Re: idesk help!

nope that didn't work. It doesn't matter where the icons are located, it seems idesk cannot locate them properly...idesk just bails out on me.  Anyone else have this problem or know what I'm doing wrong?
