Conky & locale (not displaying German Umlauts)? [SOLVED]

My locale is set to de_DE.utf8. I let conky display the date in my preferred format, which uncovered, that it does not show German Umlauts (instead of "März" is comes up with something like "MAxrz" -> the A has a tilde above it, and the x has a circle in the middle, somehow I can not reproduce it for this posting).

Any idea how to fix this?

Do you have the option "override_utf8_locale" activated in your conkyrc? I can display äüö with this.
Which font do you use? Maybe it's a font problem?

Thanks, that solved the issue (no idea, why I didn't see that option before).
