Kernel panic with PCMCIA wireless cards.

UDEV throws a kernel panic when I insert either of two wireless PCMCIA wireless cards.
UDEV version 106 and the latest kernel 2.6.20.  Both wireless cards worked just fine previously
so I'm sure it's a problem caused by upgrading.

Has anyone else experienced this problem with PCMCIA cards?

Re: Kernel panic with PCMCIA wireless cards.

yep, same here... :-( But the kernel panic occurs only during the first boot, when I do a reboot it works...  can we safely revert to older udev?

Re: Kernel panic with PCMCIA wireless cards.

There is a notice about bugs with the PCMCIA kernel code that I found in 'readme-udev-arch.txt'

    - BusLogic devices are broken and will cause a freeze during startup
    Solution:
This is a kernel bug and no fix has been provided yet.

Is this a description of the error we are experiencing?

Re: Kernel panic with PCMCIA wireless cards.

Seems about rite but my system works foro some time and then at some random point freezes... guess it could be the same issue tho.

So its out of arch dev hands and needs a kernel update? Am i right to assume that next time kernel updates its the right time to try 20 series again?

smile Yeah im drunk, tried to check for typing tho ^^
