I'm having issues with my r8169 realtek semiconductor ethernet NIC after downgrading from x86_64 to x86
r8169's module loads with no issues however a new device is not created (iv tried restarting /etc/rc.d/network as well)
dmesg dosnt show anything when it loads
dmesg lists eth0 as using eth1934 and there is not eth1
on startup right after setting irq latency timer on the device dmesg says
pcie_portdrv_probe->DEV[blah:blah] has invalid irq, check vendor bios.
sorry its not an exact message, the computers are a good distance apart.
everthing loaded automagically with arch64
help would be appreciated, its pretty important that this machine is up and running by monday.
Thank You.

Hello,
I am running fine with an r8169 on x86. My mobo is a MSIK8TNeo socket 754. Here's my related dmesg output.
[dale@gordon ~]$ dmesg | grep -i 8169
r8169 Gigabit Ethernet driver 2.2LK loaded
eth0: RTL8169s/8110s at 0xf885cf00, 00:0c:76:56:54:57, IRQ 17
r8169: eth0: link up
I get the same DSDT entry as you, whatever that means.
[dale@gordon ~]$ dmesg | grep -i DSDT
ACPI: DSDT (v001 VIA VIA_K8 0x00001000 MSFT 0x0100000d) @ 0x00000000
ACPI: Looking for DSDT in initramfs... error, file /DSDT.aml not found.
