KDE 3.2.2: Background disappeared -> solved

I have some problems with the new KDE 3.2.2

I made an update outside of X and after I restarted KDE my background and all the Icons weren't there anymore but only a grey layer... right-click on the background doesn't work neither.

In the settings of Control Center it still displays my old background wallpaper though...

Does anyone know how to solve this?

do you have disabled in advanced options the possible programm to draw the background?

The impossible missions are the only ones which succeed.

right click on desktop, then [configure desktop] then [background] and then [advanced options]

Re: KDE 3.2.2: Background disappeared -> solved

I solved the problem!

The main problem is that I am still using Xfree86 4.3 so I had to manually create the libXss.so and libXinerama.so files like it is described in the newsletter and in the mailing-list archive!

Re: KDE 3.2.2: Background disappeared -> solved

I am having the same problem but have not yet managed to solve it!  I had already applied the libXinerama.so procedure, but not libXss.so.
I cannot find any instructions for creating the libXss.so file, but I assume it is essentially the same procedure as for libXinerama?  I have gone ahead on that basis and now have a libXss.so file, but the problems remain.
I am also getting the following messages when booting, immediately after loading modules:

How do I bring up interfaces on this distro?
add event not handled
