I tried the arch LiveCD and find it extremely slow (used to split-second stuff).
I also tried Pclinuxos Live CD and it performs decently but is restricted to 650MB of compressed coding.
One could re-master the CD and enter other options, especially the tcp/ip info.
If a person is to do a re-master, why stop with just 650MB if a re-master with a DVD+ rom would permit 6 times that figure.
I am not familiar with the DVD+ format or speed(s) but it seems logical that more capability in the Live DVD+ would be worth a lot, even if such a thing wasn't much faster.
Is there any one doing such a thing?

Do you mean realize a live DVD???
If yes it is going to be much slower than a CD, reading speed on dvd is very little compared to CD.
If you meant create a DVD distribution, it is a bit unsefull.
CD release became outdate in 3 weeks, arch update package very fast. Practically after 3 week is better to do a base install and then instal other package by pacman.
Most of the people have only a CD recorder.

DVD is much slower? do you realize that: CD 1x is 150KB/s and DVD 1x is about 2 or 3 MB/s ?

DVD 4x ~= CD 36x
I believe thats it, not postive though. The numbers are something like 4,200k/s and 1800k/s correct?
And that is an awsome idea, you could fit an entire base system on there along with all the packages (DE/GUI and apps).
