Just got Arch installed with KDE and I have a couple of questions
Beryl-Manager and the window decorator run fine, but I can't get into the Settings-Manager, this is the error message I get:
(beryl-settings:6342): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
Using the fallback 'C' locale.
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/beryl-settings", line 35, in ?
locale.setlocale(locale.LC_ALL, '')
File "/usr/lib/python2.4/locale.py", line 381, in setlocale
return _setlocale(category, locale)
locale.Error: unsupported locale setting
Also I was thinking about installing KDEmod, instead of KDE. What are the benefits to running KDEmod over KDE? If installing KDEmod isn't a good idea, how can I remove all the KDE packages I dont want? (Toys, games, edutainment)
Any help at all would be great

Have you set the locale?

Don't really know what your talking about

As root, uncomment the locales that you are using in /etc/locale.gen then run locale-gen

Alright, so how do I know which one I need?

i.e. if you are using US en use the example in the config file. See wiki.

Yep, that did it thanks
Do you know how I can uninstall the KDE packages I don't need? (toys, endutainment)
Thanks

Here, I assume you installed the official kde with : pacman -S kde.
If you don't use any toys, education apps:
pacman -R kdetoys kdeedu
Only kdebase and kdelibs (and their dependencies) are needed to get the KDE desktop. The other packages in the kde group only contain apps.

Alright thanks, now I was thinking about installing KDEmod...what are the advantages to that over just installing the normal KDE?
