Fluxbox related question

If I install ONLY X and Fluxbox (and of course fonts and the like) can I run any GNOME or KDE related applications?

And if not, what do I need to install to run them? (except GNOME and KDE of course)

Re: Fluxbox related question

It'll vary from app to app, but you'll need at least GTK for Gnome and QT for KDE, I think.  Some more integrated apps will probably need a lot more.

Re: Fluxbox related question

GNOME and KDE apps need GNOME and KDE libs respectively. If you want lightweight desktop - check GTK, Qt and ncurses apps. For example:

Web: firefox or opera
Movies: mplayer
Music: sonata, ncmpc, audacious
Filemanager: pcmanfm, rox, mc
Torrent: transmission
