Ok, so I have been messing around with BSD's ports and I found it kind of nice. But I also require proper binary support, which freebsd does not have. (It doesn't seem to support upgrading binaries, so if you try to upgrade xorg for example, you have to uninstall a whole bunch of packages manually then install them again (and you can only do 200 at a time).). So remembered arch's makeworld tool and decided to try it.
I copied the /var/abs/extra/kde folder into my home directory. Then I went in to /var/abs/extra and typed makepkg -c /home/ag/kde kde
It began compiling, but it only made kde-commen, nothing else. What am I doing wrong? I got my information on this from the wiki on repackaging arch for i586.
In this land of the pain the sane lose not knowing they were part of the game.
