CD could not be read

I can't readany CD / DVDs. The reported error is :"Feature only availablewith HAL".
But I have already installed HAL thro' pacman.
The pacman -Qo gives "No package owns HAL".

Re: CD could not be read

You need to put hal to your DAEMONS list from rc.conf ,add your username to the groups hal, dbus and optical if you want automount to work

Re: CD could not be read

Updated rc.conf file.
In group file I have optical only and already my username is included there.
What about dbus and hal ?
If I have to add a new group for them what numbers have I to give ?

Re: CD could not be read

Even without that it worked. Just I had to add HAL to rc.conf.
Thanks for your help.
