Hello,
I just wanted to upgrade my laptop here, but it seems as if pacman resolves wrong version numbers for ftp.archlinux.org:
From the pacman log:
Targets: db-4.5.20-1 apr-util-1.2.8-2 cracklib-2.8.10-3 flac-1.1.4-1
heimdal-0.7.2-5 jack-audio-connection-kit-0.102.20-2 klibc-1.5-1
klibc-extras-2.2-2 libgsf-1.14.3-2 libldap-2.3.33-3 libsasl-2.1.22-3
libsndfile-1.0.17-1 libxml2-2.6.27-2 mpd-0.12.1-3 neon-0.25.5-5
nspr-4.6.6-1 nss-3.11.5-1 openssh-4.6p1-1 pam-0.81-3 perl-5.8.8-5
postgresql-libs-8.2.3-1 postgresql-8.2.3-1 python-2.5-3
python-numeric-24.2-2 pycairo-1.2.2-2 pygobject-2.12.3-2 pygtk-2.10.4-1
pyogg-1.3-3 python-egenix-mx-base-2.0.6-3 pypgsql-2.5.1-3
pyvorbis-1.4-2 samba-3.0.24-4 smbclient-3.0.24-2
startup-notification-0.9-1 subversion-1.4.3-2 thunderbird-1.5.0.10-1
vim-7.0.216-1 vorbis-tools-1.1.1-3
The problem is for example, there's no python-2.5-3 in /current, but only a python-2.5-2.
Here's a list of the packages I found that are not working:
package name version in /current on ftp.archlinux.org
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
nspr-4.6.6-1 nspr-4.6.5-1
nss-3.11.5-1 nss-3.11.4-1
python-2.5-3 python-2.5-2
startup-notification-0.9-1 startup-notification-0.8-4
thunderbird-1.5.0.10-1 thunderbird-1.5.0.9-2
The problem is, that most mirrors don't have the right version (and especially ftp.archlinux.org itself doesn't have the correct ones), though pacman finally found one that provides the versions it wished to have.
regards,
rochus
