DELL XPS 2 Crashes at random

I have a odd problem..

In Arch, Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Mint, at random, but so far today 3 times, my machine will just lock up, the screen goes grey/white and it is like a hard lock.

I then can only recover by rebooting. (pushing the power off button for a few seconds)

This happens on both the NV driver and the Nvidia driver.
I thought it may be vmware-player, but it happens if that is install or not. I read all the logs in /var/log, but at the time of the crash, there is no reference at all, only the previous power up stage.

I have used Pardus and pclinuxos for at least 1 week at a time, and this has not happened in those two, it could just be fate that it did not happen with those.

How would one go about figuring this out? It has been going on for about 12 months, staring when i was using Ubuntu fulltime.

its a dell Inspirion xps2 (notebook) with 1G ram nvidia 6800 ultra card, pentium M.

PS i love Arch, so would love to figure it out big_smile

If i need to provide any log files and so on please advise as i am more than happy to supply whatever info will be of help.
