Certainly i'm thinking about acting, not waiting ?
What can I do? And how?

Same thing here, I want to try by myself. If someone could tell me the "order" of packages compilation, would be great. For the moment I only checked in the Gnome Gentoo ebuild for the list, maybe ?

glib
gtk2
atk
pango
libxml2
libxslt
etc...

This is the build order for 2.16.1
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bui … _for_Gnome

2.18 should be fairly close to this. I've built gnome from scratch before. It should be pretty easy updating the PKGBUILDs. I'm too busy with school right now to do it myself.
