X Server failed to laungh

I just installed X with everything configured ok. I try to launch it as a normal user ... it goes blank. I press ALT+F1 and I see an error message that says "Connection reset by peer" with error number 106.

I do the same as root ... at first it does not work at all. I copy the .xinitrc from the user's folder to root's folder, launch the server again with "startx" (and an exec startfluxbox in there) and ... the same error.

What is the problem, it is about the X server that refuses to start?

Re: X Server failed to laungh

Look for any entries that have EE in your Xorg log file, those will point you towards the error.  Your post is very lacking in information.

Re: X Server failed to laungh

I found the problem. In the .xinitrc it was set to start wmaker, except that I did not had wmaker installed. Now everything works fine with one exception ... if I exit fluxbox ... the screen goes blank in powersave mode and I need to restart the system. Why?
