After last pacman -Syu, I cant burn an audio cd by mp3 files.
When I start k3b I get
Mp3 Audio Decoder plugin not found.
K3b could not load or find the Mp3 decoder plugin.
This means that you will not be able to create Audio CDs from Mp3 files.
Many Linux distributions do not include Mp3 support for legal reasons.
Solution: To enable Mp3 support, please install the MAD Mp3 decoding library
as well as the K3b MAD Mp3 decoder plugin (the latter may already
be installed but not functional due to the missing libmad).
Some distributions allow installation of Mp3 support via an online update tool (i.e. SuSE's YOU).
and if i try to adda a mp3 into an audio project I get
Unable to handle the following files due to an unsupported format:
You may manually convert these audio files to wave
using another application supporting the audio format
and then add the wave files to the K3b project.
this is not a sync problem, I have the latest versions of libmad and k3b.

libmad can be obtained from the repositories, "pacman -Sy libmad" try that first.

I already have the latest version of libmad.
Reinstalling it didn't solve the problem.

The message you get also suggests that there is nothing else in your machine to handle mp3. Perhaps you should install something like lame or ripperx in order to make things work ?

I have no other problem with mp3. I can convert wma to mp3 and play mp3 files. The only problem is with k3b.
And before last update, k3b was able to make audio cds. The problem is with version 1.0

the erroor was with the update of Berkeley DB.
The solution was to keep libdb-4.4.so in /usr/lib after the update to 4.5
