xmms not opening anymore

xmms was working fine yesterday but now it wont open. when i click xmms in the menu nothing happens.

when i type xmms in the terminal is gives:
Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library

when i run xmms as root, it opens but gives:
Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library
Gdk-WARNING **: Missing charsets in FontSet creation
Gdk-WARNING **:     ISO8859-1
** WARNING **: Failed to open font: "-adobe-helvetica-bold-r-*-*-10-*".

how can i fix this?

nevermind, a reboot fixed this
