Compiling FFMPEG with x264 support lately?

My current version of FFMPEG with x264 was built on 3/10/2007. I believe that it is SVN-r8137 (or maybe 8317). x264 version at that time was r628. Ever since then I can no longer get FFMPEG to find x264 at compile time. I get a "x264 not found" (and a bunch of other crap) error message. Someone else reported this to the FFMPEG mailing lists, but the response wasn't helpful:

My package build is the same as before, but with all of the --enable-vorbis --> --enable-libvorbis stuff. I posted at the doom9 forums to no avail. Has anyone been able to do this lately?

Re: Compiling FFMPEG with x264 support lately?

Noriko thanks, but I'm certain that this is a problem with FFMPEG. As I said before, I can build against x264 with FFMPEG-SVN-r8317, but nothing newer.

Re: Compiling FFMPEG with x264 support lately?

It turns out that it wasn't FFMPEG at all. The newest versions of x264 need to be built against YASM >= 0.6.0.
