I just installed sshfs and fuseiso, and they seem pretty neat but the problem I'm having is that Thunar will not open directories that have fuse filesystems mounted in them. Actually, it will open them, but just for a second. I'll double-click the directory in Thunar and briefly see the contents flash before it goes back to the parent directory. I can see the contents fine in the terminal and in rox (which I just now installed so I could test with another file manager). I tried to search for solutions, but all I found were success stories about using fusesmb with Thunar.
Does anyone know why this might happen?

I know this isn't a whole lot of use to you, but it's working for me. Extremely obvious question - is your system completely up to date?

My system was up to date as of my mirror last night. There were a few updates (mostly to beryl) that I installed just now but they didn't seem to have an effect. I restarted for good measure, to no avail. I got an idea though and it works okay if I turn off FAM. Hopefully there is another way, since I don't want to refresh to see new files. That seems to be at least part of the problem though.

Hmm.. bug confirmed. I wasn't using fam, so I installed it to check this out, and got similar behaviour. I also had no problems with an alternative file manager, pcmanfm in my case.

I've filed it in xfce's bugzilla, ref 3093. Add your own comments to my report there.

I have also been affected by the problem of being returned to the parent folder when trying to browse a mounted fusesmb share with Thunar as a normal user. Stopping FAM cures the symptoms.
I also noticed when I created a folder owned by root, and ran fusesmb as root and ran Thunar as root with FAM running I did not have the problem.

It's a known issue with fam that remains to be fixed; however I've been using 'gamin' in place of fam for quite some time now and it works great with Thunar/fuse. It's available in AUR if you're interested.
