No eth0 after 2.6.5 compile

I've done this at least a hundred times under slackware, but now I compile my kernel with built in support for e1000, I get no eth0 device.

This makes me feel really stupid. What's going on? This is my first day using arch, so please don't shoot me... smile

check with dmesg wether the carddriver is loaded or not at startup.

argh... boy do I feel stupid. I forgot to rerun lilo, so I was booting the old kernel (which also happened to be 2.6.5)
