I've upgraded python today and now gajim doesn't work:

After seeing this first time I upgraded gajim too, but it didn't help. Versions: gajim: 0.11-3; python: 2.5-2. It seems to me that some python modules became broken but I don't know what.

Is python 2.5 moved to current already?

No, it's still in testing and version of gajim I've got is in testing too.

Report it on the bugtracker - and thanks for testing.

Bug report was closed as working (http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/6618 for details) but it's still a problem for me

I have the same problem with nicotine. Very similar error msg and newest python and nicotine installed.

It resolved after installing OpenSSL library which was broken after python upgrade IMHO.
