Hello everybody,
I was able to use my Epson Scanner perfectly in Archlinux.
I did not use the scanner for at least one month and now it does not work anymore.
While using xsane or scanimage I get:
[root@beta fabio]# scanimage
scanimage: open of device snapscan:libusb:004:007 failed: Error during device I/O
and the status light on my scanner became red!
I did not changed any config file and I'm stuck because scanimage -L return the correct output:
device `snapscan:libusb:004:007' is a EPSON EPSON Scanner1 flatbed scanner
Does someone has any hints?
Thanks a lot!
Fabio

Just installed xsane here and alls fine, You may have already done it but have you check to see if your still in scanner group. Don't think it would but maybe the update changed something in that area. All I can think of at the moment, if I stumble across anything I'll let you know

My Epson 1260 started to work badly also (it scans, but can't move its scanning mechanism to the start position), but in my Slackware box it works good.
